Coronavirus Lockdown Diaries – Day 20

Lockdown Diaries (20)

Day 20 – 11/04/2020

The Queen spoke to us again today, delivering an Easter message. “We know that Coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be, particularly for those suffering with grief – light and life are greater. May the living flame of the Easter hope be a steady guide as we face the future.” Despite my position as a non-royalist, and a person of no religion… I found a little light in the Queen’s message. Our walk today was quite beautiful, I took special notice of the wildflowers in bloom. At least, in the natural world, there is colour and light. I mostly played the online Pokemon trading card game instead of doing any actual work. It is the weekend after all. My fairy deck is really strong, and I spent my time working on creating new decks. I like ordering things, it makes me happy. This was an ideal task to distract me from remembering that Saturdays are usually adventure days. Today I adventured into the Pokemon world instead… I wish I lived there. Life would be simpler. I would only have to worry about which Pokemon partner to pick! That is a tough one. I have a love for the water types. Maybe Vapereon? Or Lapras? I also like Shaymin. There are too many to choose! We have virtual reality, we can’t be that far away from vacations into fantastical worlds… my adventure into the Pokemon world could be a reality one day right? I think I have been in Lockdown for too long. Tonight was movie night, and it was Stuart’s turn to pick. His selection: Lord of War. Not really my kind of film, he picked it to be thought-provoking. It was, but just further instilled my hatred for gun culture, toxic masculinity, and war. My next film selection will be less bloody. Also, our frozen pizzas were disappointing, and I miss takeaways.
